Our team is in full planning mode for the annual Specification Management Summit, coming up Jan. 31 - Feb. 2, 2024 in Austin, Tx. With speakers from leading fortune 500 companies, Gartner, academia, and more, attendees can not only expect to learn a lot but engage with leaders pushing industry forward.
Registration is currently open, so be sure to sign up and secure your spot as space is limited.
The event kicks off Wednesday, Jan. 31 at 4 p.m. with “Chat with Matt” where Specright Founder & CEO Matthew Wright will discuss topics “top of mind” for him, including how your organization can drive sustainability goals while optimizing costs.
One of the primary goals of Summit is to bring together a diverse group of industry leaders, technology innovators, and business strategists – all with the desire to transform how products and packaging are made.
Every year, our objective is to build an agenda that will help the audience learn more about industry trends and the value of a spec-first approach to data management. This year’s Summit will be no different.
Sustainability Remains Top of Mind
Based on feedback from last year’s Spec Summit, and discussions we’ve had all year long with customers and industry leaders, tackling sustainability remains a top priority and challenge for organizations. Due to this, it will remain a focus of this year’s event.
Not only will we host a panel discussion with industry leaders from Dermalogica and Taylor Farms, who are prioritizing sustainability as part of their overall business mission, but Prof. Raphael Auras, the Amcor Endowed Chair in Packaging Sustainability at the School of Packaging at Michigan State University, who will weigh in on the implications of regulatory pressures on businesses, among other sustainable packaging topics.
Attendees can also plan to hear from Specright customers, Todd Farwell, of Cummins, who’s team is using a spec-first approach to tackle global compliance and drive efficiencies.
The Specification Management Journey: How to Get Started and What to Do Next
If you’ve never attended Spec Summit before and aren’t sure about the value of a spec-first approach, our Event Chair, Paul Gray, Director of Continuous Improvement at Central Garden & Pet (CGP), will be showcasing their 5+ year journey with Specright. You’ll learn how the CGP Team started in one area (Quality) to gain better visibility and traceability of specification data and has since expanded across multiple business units, and is now focusing on supplier collaboration and optimizations through the Specright Network.
Luke Chavez of Sovos Brands will also present on the value his team is seeing from Specification Management for new product development. And, Matt Fitzpatrick of Saint-Gobain, will highlight the value of breaking down data silos, including ditching spreadsheets, shared drives and email communications to leverage one single-source-of-truth for specification data.
For those wondering where to even start, we’ll have explainer presentations and time for Q&A around our Spec Squad and Spec Assist services. We’re trying to make it easier than ever to get started and leverage your specification data to transform your business.
Engaging Key Stakeholders Across Your Organization
We often hear from our customers and prospective customers that they “get it.” They understand the value of Specification Management, but it can be hard to convince key stakeholders across their organization.
We want to help.
That’s why we’re holding a panel discussion with Senior IT leaders, moderated by Mike Crowe, former CIO of Colgate-Palmolive. This discussion will focus on what attendees should consider when engaging with IT leaders, advice for implementing a new software platform, and how to think about an overall master data management strategy.
Register Now for Specification Management Summit 2024
As I mentioned earlier, space is limited, so if you haven’t registered yet, now is the time to do so. You can check out the full agenda here. And, even watch a highlight reel from last year’s Summit.
Beyond the topics I covered here, you can expect to learn a lot more – use cases for Specification Management, best practices around data digitization, implementation, and supplier collaboration. And, you’ll also hear from our technologists on the latest Specification Data Management platform features and enhancements.
Wondering how we’re thinking about artificial intelligence? See live demos at the event!
Plus, as anyone who knows the Specright Team, you know we like to have fun. So, expect to do that as well at dinner events at Geraldine’s and Central Machine Works. I look forward to seeing you in January, and please reach out to our team with any questions.
