Laura has been with Ocean Mist Farms for over two decades where she has honed her skills and developed her expertise in several areas from sales and marketing to packaging and new product development.

In her current position as Packaging & Sustainability Manager, Laura’s responsibilities include oversight and management of all packaging specifications and artwork for the organization’s vast product line. Laura’s background and expertise is instrumental in making recommendations on new products for packaging and sustainability. Additionally, in her role collaborating with multiple
departments around the company ensures the development and delivery of the most successful product launches.

Laura is a native Californian, residing in the Salinas Valley, where she enjoys hiking, traveling, gardening and an action-packed life with her three children.

Laura leads marketing and investor relations at Specright, the first cloud-based platform for Specification Management. Specright has been recognized as a Gartner Cool Vendor, received the Salesforce Innovation Award and was named one of the Top Places to Work by the OC Register and Built in LA. 

She hosts “Beyond the Shelf: the Product and Packaging Podcast,” where she interviews the industry leaders behind the products we love and use everyday.

Prior to Specright, she led advertising and analytics at GE Digital, GE’s Industrial Internet software business. Before that, she was a consultant at Deloitte Digital working in enterprise digital transformation. Laura was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for marketing and advertising and Brand Innovators 40 Under 40 and 100 Women to Watch lists. She graduated from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. She resides in Costa Mesa, CA.

John Blake is a Senior Research Director in the Consumer Retail team. John covers packaging, artwork and labeling in Gartner Supply Chain Research. He specializes in consumer and industrial packaging innovation and development process, packaging trends, packaging organization and talent management, packaging strategy across sustainability and e-commerce, IP, growth and cost optimization. He covers specification data management, label and artwork management vendors and best practices.

Matthew Wright is the founder & CEO of Specright, the first cloud-based platform for Specification Management. Specright has been recognized as a Gartner Cool Vendor, received the Salesforce Innovation Award and was named one of the Top Places to Work by the OC Register and Built in LA. Wright is also a published author and his book, “The Evolution of Products and Packaging”, was named to the Amazon Hot New Release List for Industrial Relations Business and has a five star rating. 

Prior to founding Specright, Wright spent more than 25 years in the packaging industry, holding leadership positions at International Paper, Temple Inland, and rightPAQ — a packaging company he co-founded. He has also been involved in leading multiple M&A deals in the packaging industry and sits on the Packaging Advisory Board at Cal-Poly San Luis Obispo.
