Today more than ever, it is essential that businesses are able to innovate, be more efficient, and more sustainable. Quality along with speed must be a top priority.

In a perfect world, this would be a simple and easy request for brands. However, with ever expanding SKUs, consumer demands, and regulations to comply with, the data needed to enable innovation is often scattered between suppliers and companies.

During my 20+ year career in the packaging industry, I experienced these issues first hand. By relying on suppliers to manage spec data, companies can often find themselves in unfavorable situations where specs are changed without their knowledge.

For example, I have seen a simple change in paper type ruin 500,000 boxes of product at $1 per box, costing a company half a million dollars. This could have been easily avoided if suppliers and customers had up-to-date communication and one source of truth for specification data.

That is why I founded Specright. Specright enables companies to manage their specification data across the supply chain in collaboration with every supplier. Our Specification Data Management (SDM) platform is truly a game changer when it comes to ensuring your products and packaging are made right, every time. Sounds great, right?

While possible today, we understand that jumping from “point A” of jumbled data in spreadsheets to “point B” where data is organized and easily accessible by everyone can seem daunting. Sometimes getting started in a digital transformation journey is the hardest part. This is why we created Spec Assist.

What Is Spec Assist?

Spec Assist is a Specright team dedicated to supporting customers throughout the data collection process. We work with customers to identify which of their suppliers and part numbers need to be collected for data collaboration. Continuous outreach via emails and phone calls is then employed to track the progress of that collection goal.

Not only do we work with companies, but we partner with their suppliers as well. There is still a huge data gap between suppliers and their companies that we are actively trying to mend.

Through Spec Assist, data collection is accelerated, data completeness is ensured, and Specright’s SDM platform can be implemented seamlessly.

Why Did We Create Spec Assist?

After working with various customers, we saw that the task of collecting missing specifications, supplier documents, and sustainability information was a large blocker when deciding if Specright would be a good fit for a company. For many companies, the hump that needed to be cleared for better Specification Management seemed too steep. Yet, necessary.

So, with Spec Assist, a team of data experts are employed to get over this hump, allowing customers to reap all the benefits of Specright’s SDM platform with little effort or dedicated resources on their end. With this service, our customers receive greater value out of Specright quicker.

Benefits of Spec Assist

Some benefits of utilizing Spec Assist include:

  • No internal resources required, keeping employees focused on day-to-day operations rather than chasing data to manually fill in gaps.
  • Having completeness over your data by working with suppliers to guarantee all data is shared to you.
  • Creates faster time-to-value operations, allowing you to put your data to work in weeks rather than months or years.
